Working with Emotions | Expressed Music

Wow! so 2016 is here. Exciting huh?! It almost feels like a new beginning and we all like new beginnings, don’t we? πŸ™‚ so just like most of you I have my year planned out in my head and written on paper as well πŸ˜‰ Β I have timelines for them, for example; when I would like to release my next single and its video, how many music projects I would like to release this year, among other personal objectives. When the year kicked off at the 5,4,3…1 countdown I was pretty excited and had a great feeling ran over me, almost an unstoppable feel #CeceOnAMission πŸ˜‰ I am still excited but within these few days of 2016 I have been shaken by a few things that got me emotional and feeling slightly powerless. I am competitive and I always like to be in the winning team and when I feel like I’m not winning my whole life feels blue. I know I’m notΒ the only one who has these episodes, if you are like me this blog is for you πŸ˜‰

Being competitive means there is a lot of comparison and snooping around to see what others are doing. If you are moving at the same pace or if you are ahead. It is not always a good habit because then you’d drown yourself and suffocate your initial plan and jump into emotional solutions which often backfire or pass but don’t feel like you, at all. Here is what I have come to understand while reading the bible and evaluating it. We all have different paths. No two people have the same path or purpose. The point at which God chooses to favor you is unknown to both you and others but when He does, He really does. Stop self battling yourself, that doesn’t make the situation any better.

Do not be distracted. Stick to your plans and objectives and trust in God to bless you at His planned time. The road was never made to be easy. There are reasons you are tested, maybe to keep you balanced and humble. Don’t shake or break when tested, instead keep your faith up and stop working with emotions.

On other news πŸ™‚ I’ve gotten back to my habit of reading and it is really opening me up. At the moment I’m reading ‘ The Richest Man In Babylon’ It such a great read. I would highly recommend it, especially if you are trying to get your finances right πŸ˜‰

I’m totally with you on the issue of being a competitive person. Taming this has been quite a deal. Seeking validation from men forgetting we all have our different purposes. Bless you Cece. Setting the pace for the new year.

It’s crazy. It happens at the least expected moments and you easily find yourself comparing. We each have our own purpose Khram, and once we understand that and stay focused all those negative feelings that come over us fade away.

Thank you for being a part of this piece πŸ™‚
